Hampshire village proving popular with buyers Published: 17/07/2008

The picturesque village of Ropley has been identified by estate agent Dreweatt Neate as a Hampshire hotspot that continues to defy the current property market correction.
According to Matthew Hallet, a property expert with the Winchester branch of the agent, houses for sale in this desirable spot of countryside keep attracting interest with buyers from across the south of England.
Situated between Alresford and Alton, the rural community of Ropley appeals to buyers because of its proximity to London and local town centres, as well as its range of amenities.
"The village primary school is highly regarded and is an enormous attraction, particularly to those moving out of London," Mr Hallet explained, easier.com reports.
"As well as its real sense of community and its several sporting clubs, Ropley is set in rolling countryside with great riding and is perfect for access to the bustling Georgian market town of Alresford (voted best market town in Britain by Country Life 2005)."
Access to the nearby city of Winchester is also cited as a big positive, as well as the town of Guildford. The capital is just an hour away on the train, while Southampton is a short journey in the opposite direction.
Dreweatt Neate currently has three properties for sale in Ropley under offer, the most recent going best and final bids. Two further houses for sale in the village are also on the market with the estate agent at present.
