CROMER
Cromer is a picturesque coastal town with a good shopping area and attractive back streets around the medieval church. The beach is sandy and is home to the famous Cromer crab boats and, of course, the famous Cromer crabs. The pier was cut in two by a drilling rig in 1993 but is now back in service and the Pavilion Theatre has its famous traditional end-of the-pier summer show. Cromer's greatest figure was Henry Blogg, coxswain of the lifeboat from 1909 to 1947, who won the George Cross and four other decorations for saving lives at sea. He was involved in saving an amazing 837 lives Apart from his museum there are many places of interest nearby including Felbrigg Hall and the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre. It has more sunshine than almost anywhere in England!
